Step by step
- Register with a GP surgery in England first. You must be 13 or over.
- Download the NHS App or log in through the NHS website.
- Prove who you are to get full access, using photo ID or your GP online services registration details.
- Book or cancel appointments, order repeat prescriptions and see test results.
What you need
- Photo ID to prove who you are.
- Or, instead of photo ID, the registration details for your GP surgery's online services.
Common mistakes
- Trying to use the app before registering with a GP in England.
- Expecting every feature: your surgery can switch some services off, and GPs outside England use other systems.
