Privacy policy

infocitizen-gov.org.uk is an information website. We designed it so that you can use it without giving us any personal data. This page explains what happens when you visit it. Last updated: 12 October 2026.

Data we collect

None directly. There are no user accounts, forms, newsletters, comments or payments on this website, and we never ask for your name, email address, immigration status or any other personal information.

Hosting and security

The website is served through Cloudflare. To deliver the pages and protect the site against attacks, Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address, the type of browser and device you use and the page you request. This processing is carried out under Cloudflare's own privacy policy and data protection commitments, and we do not use that data to identify you.

No tracking

We do not use advertising trackers, social media pixels or analytics tools that follow you across websites. Fonts and images are served from our own domain, so your visit is not shared with third parties such as Google Fonts.

Information stored on your device

The "Moving to the UK" checklist remembers the steps you tick using your browser's local storage. That information stays on your device, we never receive it, and you can delete it at any time by clearing your browser data.

Links to other websites

Our guides link to official government websites and, clearly separated, to some private services. When you follow a link you leave this website, and the other website's own privacy policy applies.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018) you have rights over your personal data, including access, correction and deletion. Because we do not hold personal data about visitors, there is normally nothing for us to give or delete. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

Changes to this policy

If we add any feature that uses personal data, such as a contact form or visitor statistics, we will update this page before it goes live.
